This (above) basically sums up my life. Especially that whole messing things up part. I like to have things figured out. I like to know the plan. But, I almost never know the plan. And I never EVER actually have my shit together.
“Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.”
-Rick Warren
Exploring joy is about what it takes to arrive at this settled assurance. It’s about the journey to what it’s like to not always know the plan. And what’s it’s like to not be in control. Joy looks different for everyone.
I’m still trying to figure out what that looks like for me.
But, if there’s anything I know to be true, it’s that this joy we’re seeking doesn’t come from anything we do or anything we control. It comes from knowing the great Artist and Creator. The Maker of all things. The ultimate Explorer.
Let’s explore, shall we?

Brooke this is so true! The twists this life of mine has given me I’ve often not known where I was headed and what I would find when I got there! Joy from God in all parts of the “plan” is the good stuff! I wear a choose joy necklace almost all the time to remind myself that that pile of laundry is an adventure to complete as well as the trip to a new place to explore!!!……keep on exploring my sweet friend!
Beautiful Broke and ever TRUE!
Thanks for the reminders ~
