A Sunday afternoon on Mount Yonah was just what our little family needed. Rocks and sticks and leaves and caves. And climbing. Lots of climbing. And maybe a little tripping and slipping and falling. I won’t name any names.
This was our first time up Yonah as a family. Brian’s a beast, so he’s been before. We made it as far as the large clearing, when a couple of certain tiny people weren’t sure they could make it to the top. So, like any reasonable humans, we pretended like we were at the top. Then, we rested and soaked up the beautiful view and made our way back down. Slowly. You know, those little legs can only go so far. And, shockingly enough, this lady can only handle so much I’M-TIRED-HOLD-ME-I-WANNA-BE-IN-THE-LEAD-ARE-WE-ALMOST-THERE. We’ll just save that trip for next time. As if we needed another reason to go back.
Minor scrapes and bruises. Major good times.
AN EXHAUSTED CHILD. This, my friends, is how you win at parenting.
